Brent Slater became of counsel to the firm in 2006, having practiced law in Maine since 1974. Mr. Slater was born in Dexter, Maine, in 1947. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1969 from the University of Maine at Orono, and his J.D. degree in 1973 from the University of Maine School of Law. In 1974 Mr. Slater was admitted to the Maine bar and the U.S. District Court, District of Maine. He is a member of the Penobscot County and Maine State Bar Associations, the Elder Law Section of the Maine Bar, and was a former member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He has lectured and written for publications on topics such as trusts, estate planning, advance health care planning and commercial real estate development.
