History and Philosophy

We began in 1938 as a general practice law firm providing a full range of services to local clients. As the practice of law became more complex, we chose to limit our services to those we do best. While we continue to represent local individuals and business people and take pride in our service to the greater Bangor area, we also enjoy a statewide reputation in several areas of the law including: Personal Injury Litigation, including Products Liability, Motor Vehicle Accidents, and Medical Malpractice; Estates, Trusts, and Personal Estate Planning; Real Estate, Environmental and Land Use law; Municipal, School, Regulatory and Governmental Relations; Corporate, Commercial and Banking Law; and Workouts, Bankruptcy and Reorganization Law.

Our goal is to provide individuals and business entities in the Bangor area and throughout the State of Maine with the finest legal services in the most cost-effective manner. We continue to operate by the same guidelines established by our founder, Edward I. Gross:
