Mogul Awarded Judgment on Revenge Porn Case

On January 16, 2026, after a bench trial in December, attorney Steven Mogul obtained a damages award exceeding a half-million dollars for a young woman whose ex-boyfriend harassed her and published sexually explicit photographs and videos of her on various websites without her knowledge or consent. In acknowledgment of the seriousness of the offence, Justice Ann Murray awarded the victim $355,000 in actual compensatory damages and an additional $200,000 in punitive damages.

According to Mogul, “my client exhibited remarkable courage to pursue this case, knowing how difficult it would be for her to testify regarding these painful and private matters in a courtroom. I share her hope that this Judgment will deter the defendant, and others who might be considering such despicable conduct.”

“The non-consensual publication of sexually explicit photographs, often referred to as Revenge Porn, is not uncommon,” said Mogul. “And due to the nature of the misconduct, many victims do no not pursue legal remedies.”
