Attorney Mogul speaks at Maine State Bar Association’s Winter Bar Conference
In addition to attending the Maine State Bar Association’s three-day Winter Bar Conference in Portland, attorney Steven Mogul, with his colleague Matthew Govan, Esq. of Govan Law in Portland, gave a presentation on the subject of Collaborative Divorce. According to Steven, because there are not enough trained Collaborative Divorce Attorneys in Maine, “our presentation was as much about recruitment as it was about the benefits of Collaborative Divorce. As the description of the session noted, Collaborative Divorce is a better way to restructure a family for the client as well as for the attorney.
“Aside from my presentation, the Winter Bar Conference provided me with a lot of information,” reported Steven. “For an old lawyer I learned a lot about Artificial Intelligence, including its benefits and precautions to be taken when utilizing this new technology.” Other sessions attended by Steven included one about how George Mitchell mediated the end to the conflict in Ireland from someone who was there. A particularly important session was about creating parenting plans for parents with neurodivergent children. According to Steven, “this session will help me educate judges with regard to the special needs of children on the spectrum.”
