Unanimous Jury Verdict for Hospital and Orthopedic Surgeon

Gross Minsky’s Medical Malpractice defense team of Ed Gould, Cameron Ouellette and Paralegal Lynn Ingalls recently obtained a defense verdict from a jury on behalf of Eastern Maine Medical Center and a pediatric orthopedic surgeon after a four day trial. The lawsuit filed by the Plaintiff alleged that the surgeon failed to timely respond to the patient’s condition which ultimately resulted in a cervical fracture. The jury heard expert testimony from Plaintiff’s orthopedic surgeon from California and defense experts from Johns Hopkins Medical Center and Yale Medical School. The jury unanimously found that the surgeon did not breach the medical standard of care applicable to him.
